The Tooth Debacle

Ok, so on vacation Katelyn had a super loose top middle front tooth. She bangs her face into the head rest of the back seat and knocks out the tooth next to it that wasn't even loose to begin with. Go figure! So what are we left with? This dangling snaggletooth that is hanging there sicking all of us out for several days at the end of our vacation. It kept getting looser and looser and would catch on her lip when she would talk and eat. She would play with it with her tongue. SICK! We tried to pull it but the booger would NOT come out! It finally came out 2 days after we came home. Get this though- it came out while she was eating oatmeal! Can you believe that? Anyway, the pics below don't even begin to show how nasty it was. The before pic was taken before it even got all that loose. The after pic is what she looks like now all toothless!!! Super cute.

P.S. We may have given her a complex calling her snaggletooth for several days. Sorry sweetheart :)

Cooper is a Preschooler!

Cooper is now a preschooler in Mrs. Thimijan's class! He has started preschool two afternoons a week and he couldn't be more pleased about it. He loves the interaction with friends, the playtime, and all the attention from the teacher and her assistants. He is getting extremely good reports from the teacher and is listening very well in class. He got to check out a book from the school library for the first time this week and was so excited. He thinks he's pretty hot stuff since Katelyn isn't the only one
who gets a book bag and gets dropped off and picked up at school. We are so proud of the little guy and can't wait to see all of the things that he is going to learn over the next year.

Katelyns 1st day of 1st grade

My 1st baby is a 1st grader! Can you believe it? They grow up so fast! Its insane. Katelyn started 1st grade in Mrs. Kohlhof's classroom. She is so excited to be back in school and is loving every second of it. The first couple days were rough as we tried to get back into the earlier bedtime routine but I think we are getting there. Many of her friends are back in the same class with her and she has some new friends in her class this year as well. She is looking forward to learning how to read and write better this year. This is also the first year that she will have homework to do such as weekly memory and spelling words. We'll try to keep you updated on how she is doing. We are having some issues with some bullying at school already so hopefully we can nip that in the rear right away. Wish us luck :)

Coco Key

Katelyn's Girl Scout troop hosted a summer outing to Coco Key Water Resort in Omaha in August for an afternoon which I was able to take both Katelyn and Cooper to. The place is huge so I wasn't able to get a ton of pictures because I was very busy keeping an eye on the kids. Cooper was very reluctant to go on any of the slides until after we had been there a couple of hours but did finally warm up. Katelyn, on the other hand, was quite the thrill seeker. They had these huge enclosed water slides that you rode a tube down and she hopped right on the tubes and went right down them all by herself. She went down what seemed like a hundred times. It was hilarious watching her climb all those steps carrying that big ole tube! They had a blast and really did not want to leave so something tells me we will be going back again soon with Daddy!

Childrens Museum

This was a trip to the Children's Museum back in July with our friends Madi and Ethan. We have gone a couple of times this summer and the kids have a blast. I actually remembered my camera this time though! I think their favorite part is probably the grocery store though. They spend a great deal of time loading up the carts and then restocking all of the shelves. Very cute if I do say so myself :)

Summer T-Ball

Huge apologies for the MAJOR delays in posting on my end. My cat chewed through my laptop cord and I was without my laptop for a couple of weeks and things got way behind! Anywho I am going to attempt to play some SERIOUS catch up. I will keep things short and sweet or at least try to not bore you with details but post lost of albums b/c we all know that the pics are the BEST!!! Katelyn played tball this summer for 6 weeks and LOVED it! It was her first year and we were shocked at how much the girls progressed throughout the six weeks. The 1st couple of weeks they had no clue what they were doing but we were amazed at how quickly they picked up on the game and the rules. Their minds are so moldable at this age!!! Is that a word? Moldable? My spell check says no- but I say YES! Whatever :) Katelyn enjoyed pitcher, 1st base, and catcher the most and was EXTREMELY vocal with her coach about wanting to play these positions while Dad and Mom sat on the sidelines biting our nails waiting for her to get clogged in the face with a bat or ball! YIKES! Nerve racking.
