Our newest family member

Meet Simon...our new puppy :) He is so sweet and loves to cuddle.

Christmas w/Blake and Jasmine

Blake and Jasmine weren't able to be with us on Christmas since they were with their Mom so we went down to their house to watch them open their Christmas gifts. Then we gave the kids some play time while the adults enjoyed some board games.

Christmas w/my side of the family

Christmas Day with the Neumanns

Christmas Eve morning

We had to play "Christmas morning" on Christmas Eve morning this year since I had to work Christmas Eve night. As usual I think Mommy and Daddy overdid it a bit on the Christmas gifts. Every year I say I will limit myself but those darn sales just suck me in year after year.

Prepping for Christmas Morning

Every year on Christmas Eve we give the kids new jammies to wear, set out cookies for Santa, and the kids have giant bags that we lay under the tree for Santa to fill with goodies. This year was no different :)

Hyvee/DaVincis field trip

Coopers kindergarten class took a field trip to DaVincis where they got to make their very own pizza dough and tour the pizza kitchen. And, the best part is we then got to eat the pizza (FOR BREAKFAST!) What's better than pizza for breakfast? Next, we crossed the street and got to tour Hyvee and learn all about there system for labeling their foods based on nutritional value. I never realized that they did this until going on this field trip. Just another reason Hyvee is my favorite place to shop for groceries. The kids went on a scavenger hunt to grocery shop for a meal that they made for all the families to enjoy later that week.

Halloween fun!

I love that there are so many events around Halloween that we can take the kids to. It makes purchasing those Halloween costumes a little less painful when they can wear them to multiple events. This year on top of going to Messiah's trunk or treat we also went trick or treating at Southpointe Mall, to trunk or treat at our neighborhood church, and made the trek to Grandmas and Pappas house as well as Great Grandmas house.

Messiah Trunk or Treat

The kids had a great time at Messiah's Trunk or Treat. They had a concert to kick off the event. We so appreciate all the families that take the time to prepare a trunk and help to entertain our kids.

Messiah goes to Valas!

Messiah sponsored another Valas event and this year was even more fun than the last. We met up with the Volzkes when we got there and the kids had a blast together!

Fontanelle Forest

I was not even aware there was a forest near Omaha until chaperoning a 3rd grade field trip to Fontanelle Forest. I highly recommend checking it out. It is a truly beautiful place so close to home.
