Happy St Patricks Day!!

In celebration of this festive holiday and despite feeling horrible I decided to whip up some green pancakes, green eggs, and green milk for dinner. The kids were reluctant at first to eat them but after explaining that the food coloring does not change the taste the kids dug in and enjoyed them. Happy St Patty's Day!!

Daddy's birthday celebration

We spend Daddy's birthday in Omaha with a trip to one of our favorite places-The Amazing Pizza Machine. Daddy took the day off so we were able to head up after Katelyn got out of school. We beat the Friday night rush and were able to play for couple hours before chowing down at their huge buffet. We all had a great time together and were thankful to be able to celebrate Dad's bday on his ACTUAL birthday!

Alyx's bowling party

On Sunday afternoon we were off to Fairbury, Ne to attend a birthday party for our friend's daughter Alyxzandria. The kids were super excited because it was a bowling party. Katelyn has been bowling before but this was Cooper's first time. They both are huge fans!

We love you sooooo much and can't wait to celebrate your birthday this afternoon and evening! We are so lucky to have you in our lives. You take such good care of all of us and are appreciated so much! We look forward to what the next year brings and all the laughs we are going to have together.

Baking Round #2

Today after school we decided to bake yet again. Katelyn got a cupcake maker for Christmas and has been dying to use it. We decided to make Daddy some birthday cupcakes! An hour and a half later we had 4 (yes only 4) cupcakes which each were cooked in the microwave for 30 seconds. Each cupcake was a different flavor as well as each frosting. All of the utensils and cupcake maker parts had to be cleaned between each cupcake. This is why it was so time consuming. Now my battery in my camera went out and I was unable to take a pic of the final decorated cupcakes but let me say they don't look or smell very tasty. Poor Daddy has no choice but to eat them though. My advice to anyone whose child wants the cupcake maker is to make your cupcakes the old fashioned way and just use the cupcaker maker to decorate. Or, just don't waste your money. Good thing Santa brought this gift :)

Baking Round #1

This week has been a baking frenzy over here. We decided on Wed. night to bake some cookies and went with a green theme since St. Patty's Day is coming up. The cookies were quite tasty!

STOP Class!

Coop's newest thing is when he wants us to stop doing something or to wait for him he says "RED LIGHT!" This totally caught us off guard the other night as Ryan was heading out waiting for cooper to get his coat on. He's been saying it ever since.

Another favorite word of his is "ACTUALLY" Around our house you'll hear him say actually at least 4 to 5 times a day.

The last of Coopers latest quirks is claiming that he has a stomach ache for everything. His latest statements include:

"I can't eat, my stomach hurts"
"My stomach hurts, I can't go to sleep"
"I can't take a bath, my tummy hurts"
"My tummy hurts so I can't comb my hair"
"I spilt my juice because my tummy hurts"
and my favorite "I'm smiling because my tummy hurts" (with a little smirk on his face)
I can already foresee the day is coming where he tells me his stomach hurts, I tell him to quit fibbing and he proceeds to barf all over my feet. I'll let you know when that day arrives.

Where do babies come from?

While up at the hospital delivering girl scout cookies to my coworkers Katelyn and I heard the chimes that are played when a baby is born. Katelyn then asked me "Mommy, how does the baby get out of the mom's tummy and into the world?" I replied that God decides when it is time for the baby to come out and the Mommy goes to the hospital and the baby is born. If only that were enough explanation. Katelyns reply to this:

"Mommy, do they cut the baby out or does the Mommy just open her mouth and the baby flies out?"

Where do kids get this stuff? Yes dear, mommies spit babies out their mouths! I think that explanation will do for now.

The boys rockin out to Guitar Hero!

Cooper loves to play guitar hero with Daddy and is convinced that any guitar will work with the game. Daddy is thankful that his scores remain free of Coop's missed notes! I happen to think that Cooper ROCKS even better than his Daddy does. I might add that shortly after taking these pictures I stole the guitar and stole the show. I blew Ryans scores out of the water! Makes him so mad!

All warm and cozy

Mali fell asleep on the back of our chair behind me while I was folding laundry. I threw a blanket up there not even realizing she was there. She didn't seem to mind and continued to lay there unphased!
