2nd grade chapel

This is Katelyn's speaking part at her 2nd grade class chapel:

Happy 8th Birthday to a very special girl!

Now I don't remember my birthdays stretching out into a 4 day event but I guess thats the way it goes these days. Katelyn turned 8 last Thursday. We started off the day by taking sugar cookies to school, Cooper and I went and had lunch with Katelyn at school, and then after school we went to Famous Daves (Katelyn's choice of favorite dining experience) and then to Champions for some fun and games. I forgot my camera to take pics of dinner and Champions :( Katelyn was soooo excited about the giant ice cream sundae she was given at Famous Daves and then she hit several jackpots at Champions and was able to pick a very nice stuffed animal as a prize. Even Cooper won a Little Red doll. On Saturday we had a dual birthday party at Skate Zone. Katelyn's friend Hadley shares the same birthday so our families thought it we be fun to have a birthday party together. The girls decided to take donations for Messiah's outdoor classroom in lieu of gifts and they were able to raise over $300 for the cause. We then surprised Katelyn at the end of her party by telling her that her good friend Rilee was coming over for a sleepover at our house. This was a first for both girls and it was a huge success! On Sunday we had a family birthday party with yummy cake and gifts followed by dinner and games. It was an exhausting weekend but such a memorable one. We are so proud of the little girl Katelyn has become and she is soooo much fun. We can't believe she is halfway to 16 already. Lord help us!

"Storm"

This is Katelyn's first season of basketball and lets just say she is LOVING it!! She has many of her Messiah friends on her team and a great coach! I have to say that basketball is definitely my favorite kids sport to watch. The girls are so cute when they dribble the ball a couple of times and then just walk with it completely unaware that its a big no-no in basketball :) They are taking baby steps to learning how to play by the rules and each week they are progressively getting better. Goooo Storm!

Preschool Chapel

This is a clip of video I took of Cooper's speaking part at his preschool chapel. Very short but cute. The kids each had to pick one thing they would take with them on a trip. I was not suprised by Cooper's choice.

Friends are the BEST!!

Christmas Day

Happy Birthday Jesus!!

As tradition always dictates we spent Christmas morning as a family in our pj's around the Christmas tree opening gifts. We played for awhile but then had to clean up and start making chili and Daddy's famous homemade cinnamon rolls for an afternoon of celebrating with my side of the family. We opened gifts, had an INCREDIBLE spread of holiday desserts and goodies, and played games til the midnight hour. Another fabulous holiday season with our families in the books!

Christmas Eve 2010

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve this year. We spent the afternoon at Ryan's parents house hanging out. We let the kids open a few of their gifts before heading to my neice and nephews Christmas program at church. After that we quickly made our way to Ryan's brothers for gifts and food. Ryans Dad had a fun game in store for us that involved scratching lottery ticket and ears of caramel corn! I could tell you more but I'd have to kill you!! Then it was back home to hit the sack and wait for Santa to arrive during our slumber.

Miracle on 70th Street

Saint Elizabeth hosted a community event this holiday season for the public that we decided to attend. Even though it was CRAZY BUSY and the turn out was way larger than the hospital anticipated, the kids enjoyed seeing Santa's reindeer, riding in his sleigh, playing games, and doing crafts. These are the pics from that event:
