Messiah Christmas Program 2010

The kids had a great program despite the fact that Cooper chose to stand up there with his head down the whole time. He says he has "STAGE FRIGHT." Poor kid. His sister is just the opposite. Front and center, head held high, voice as loud as ever! Its ok though. He'll get there. I know he loves to sing and dance but he's even shy when we catch a glimpse of him performing :)

On a side note one of Coopers latest words that he uses multiple times a day is "distracted." I don't know where he got this but its hilarious when he says it.

Latest quotes "Mom, I got distracted"
"Mom, you are distracting me"
"Mommy, did you get distracted?"

I just wanted to get this recorded in the blog so I'll remember his little quirks but hopefully you'll get a smile out of it too.

Halloween 2010

We had a great time trick or treating this year with the cousins in Beatrice!! We finally threw away the remaining candy the day before Thanksgiving.

PreK Halloween Animal Party

These are pics from Coopers preschool Halloween Party. The picture speak for themselves as to what we did at the party :)

Neighborhood Block Party

I was incredibly bummed when I had to work the night that our neighborhood church threw a Halloween Block Party. But, thank goodness for SUPER DAD who took the kids in my absence and he even GOT PICTURES! GO RYAN!

Valas 2010

Our church had a great get together up by Omaha at Vala's pumpkin patch. We were able to spend the day up there at a discounted price and met up with several church friends at one of the campsites for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. It was so much fun. We L-O-V-E going to the pumpkin patch every year but haven't been to Valas in about 5 years. We have only made it to RocaBerry so this was a special treat for the kids and boy did they love it. Of course they were exhausted by the end of the night and were not too happy about having to get in the tub when we got home. YIKES! That was NOT an easy task but SOOOO necessary. They were DIRTY!!

Sunwest farms

Now, I can't chaperone one kids field trip without tagging along on my other kiddos field trip. This was our trip to Sunwest farms in north Lincoln. The kids got to check out the ducks, bounce in the bounce house, take a hayrack ride out to pick a pumpkin, paint those pumpkins inside the barn, and top it off with yummy Halloween pumpkin cookies and kool-aid! It was a great time and I was shocked at how well behaved all the kids were.

Plum Creek Literacy Festival 2010

This fall I was able to chaperone one of Katelyns field trips to Concordia College in Seward. We went to the literacy festival. The kids got to meet the illustrator of the Biscuit books, Pat Schories and the author of "Mrs. McNosh Hangs up her Wash" Sarah Weeks. They also had a ton of activities on the green that the kids got to enjoy after lunch :)

Fall Soccer

This fall Katelyn played soccer again. She had a great coach and a great team with several of her classmates. If memory serves me right I think they only lost one game. The final game of the season Katelyn got hurt in the first couple minutes and had to sit out the rest of the game. The coach gave all the players trophies which she was super excited about. Cooper also got to join in on the fun playing micro soccer at the YMCA soccer clinic. He really enjoyed it once he got the hang of it. Ryan had to go out on the field with him most of the practices. He says he wants to play again in the spring so we'll see how that goes.
