Congrats to Misty and David!

I'm going to be an Aunt again! WOOT WOO! That's right-My Sister's Having A Baby! In honor of this big news I have finally gotten around to posting the slideshow I made for Misty and Davids wedding earlier this summer. ENJOY!

School poops this one out...

BACK 2 SCHOOL!

Katelyn is super excited about being a 2nd grader and Cooper is stoked that he gets to go to preschool EVERY day! And, I'm not going to lie but I am excited to have some free time in the afternoon for me :) YAY for school that makes everyone HAPPY!

A Rare Occurence!

These are RARE photos taken of our cat and dog sitting on the same chair without trying to kill one another.

Go Big RED!!! Football season is HERE!!

We were invited to a fish fry for the football game on Saturday and had a great time watching the game with some old friends! The kiddos were all decked out in their new Husker gear and looked soooo cute! I am not a fish fan but the fish fry was great and I even ate it! We were very impressed with our new quarterback and can't wait to see how this season is going to pan out! Farewell BIG 12!

Staycation Vacation!

Ok, so normally we take a family vacation each summer for about a week but this summer was crazy busy so we decided to keep it a little more low key. I was fortunate enough to score an overnight vacation package to CoCoKey Water Resort in Omaha at a scrapbooking fundraiser auction last spring. We had already talked about going so winning the auction was AWESOME and saved us a little $ too. We thought it would be fun to stay up in Omaha an extra night and visit the zoo the next day. So the week before school started we got everything booked. The kids were SOOOO excited. They had been to CoCoKey once before for a Girl Scout function and were looking forward to going with Daddy too! We spent the first day playing in the water park and topped off the evening with dinner at the Cheesecake Factory (YUM, YUM). We spent the night at the Holiday Inn attached to CoCo Key where we didn't get much sleep due to the WORST hotel bed I have ever slept on and perhaps the noisiest hotel as well. Fortunately we did not book our second night in the same hotel. We spent a few hours at CoCoKey the next day before heading to hotel #2 which was much cheaper and MUCH nicer! We got showered and changed and were off to the Amazing Pizza Machine where we played games and ate dinner and were there for FIVE hours! Craziness! The next morning we took a short detour to Kenefick Park to show Cooper the trains on display and then we were off to the Zoo! The weather forecast looked grim but the rain held off and other than being pretty hot it was pretty good. We spent the afternoon at the Zoo and ate lunch in the Treehouse Cafe above the Lied Jungle. After a very fun and EXHAUSTING 3 days we were on our way back to Lincoln to prepare for school starting the next week. It was a great way to top off our summer and I think the kids had a FANTASTIC time! I apologize that the pictures jump around a bit but I was having issues with the web album feature in Picasa so please bear with it!

Block Party

Back on July 30th our neighborhood church hosted a block party complete with food, a band, bounce houses, and more! The kids had a blast! It was pretty toasty hot out but they didn't even notice. I was so warm I forgot to take very many pictures :( but did get some of the kids playing on the church playground! They got to play with Carter and Camden and also with my co-worker/friend Tonya's kiddos (Emma and Jackson).
